Questions
Is this 100 KB JSON exactly 102,400 bytes?
Yes. The file is exactly 102,400 bytes (100 KB with 1 MB = 1,024 × 1,024 bytes). If the system you test counts 1 MB as 1,000,000 bytes, use the 100,000-byte button instead.

A small valid JSON object padded with whitespace, so JSON.parse() still succeeds at any size.
Is it safe? Where does the file come from?
The file is created by JavaScript in your own browser when you click the button. Nothing is uploaded or downloaded from a server, and the file contains no macros, scripts or personal data.
